Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actor who gained notoriety for playing Missandei on HBO's fantasy epic "Game of Thrones" (HBO 2011, 2011-19). Emmanuel grew up in Southend-on-the-Sea the name of a resort located in Essex and discovered her love for the arts of performing from when she was a child. She was noticed by her mother that she was a performer, and at the age of Nathalie was just three years old, her parents enrolled her in the singing, dancing and acting classes. Emmanuel became a fast-growing actor, and by the late 90s she had portrayed the character of Nala on stage in"The Lion King," a West End show of the well-known musical "The the Lion King." Emmanuel tried out for roles on film and television when she was still a teenager. In 2007, she got her first role of note when she played Sasha Valentine in the British soap show Hollyoaks (Channel 4 from 1995 to). Emmanuel took on the role for four years, eventually ending the series in. Emmanuel received her second break in the year following, when she was cast in the role of Missandei on the HBO show Game of Thrones. She was the Daenerys' interpreter (played by Emilia Clarke).
